Our 2007 programme is at three venues - Henley on Thames, Slough and Milton Keynes - with a whole range of whole day and afternoon and evening half day seminars and has been designed to be complimentary to your programme. Many of the afternoon and evening seminars are possible pairs of related subjects. Our venues at Slough and Milton Keynes have the same subjects and speakers; our venue at Henley on Thames stages the "specials".

We are pleased that Paul Soper FCCA returns to speak on capital gains tax, the corporate and personal tax compliance reporting and tax planning for 2008. Mike Griffiths LLB and Malcolm Lewis FCA - return to cover the Companies Act 2006/director responsibilities and interpretation of accounts/business valuation respectively.

Taxation cpd:

Paul Soper FCCA gives his insight into both corporate and personal self assessment return filing, highlighting the pit- falls and danger areas as well as sharing his knowledge of tips and expertise.
We have programmed at each venue a whole day for Property Taxation with four speakers on four component aspects - CIS employment, CGT, Capital Allowances and VAT.
John Crawford AIIT, from the VAT Consultancy, returns to highlight the pitfalls and areas how it is so easy to encounter VAT problems costing hundreds, and often thousands, of pounds to put right.
Dave Grimley from the Advanced Tax Consulting Ltd is a former HMRC employment taxes inspector. He will present updates at both venues on PAVE, NIC and employment taxes and point out the new pitfalls within online reporting, fil- ing etc.

Accounting compliance cpd:

Charles Gubbins CA and Sarah Smith FCCA FCIE will be on hand to cover FRSSE reporting pitfalls to avoid and the Charities Act 2006 respectively. Sarah will also present two evening seminars on practice management. This is an ideal session for those thinking of becoming practitioners as well as for those currently in practice.

Corporate Recovery & Overhead Cost Reduction cpd:

Maria Land ACMA leads on Squeezing the Lemon -subtitle Overhead Cost Reduction and Profit Improvement. Maria has many years of such experience within finance functions of large plcs and will include pointers specifically for the smaller family owned business.
We are pleased to invite Peter Windatt FCCA MIPA to share with us his considerable experience as an insolvency practitioner and corporate recovery expert. Peter will take us through a case study of a small family owned business on brink of insolvency based on a montage of actual events.

Professional and personal development cpd:

We welcome Pat Scott FCCA, from LeadingEdgeChange, who will lead a participative work shop on how to produce a career survival guide for yourself, irrespective of your current career path.
Sarah Smith FCCA FCIE gives at each venue two sessions on being a practitioner. An essential guide to those considering being a practitioner as well as those within practices. Topics include office setup/organisation, marketing, assessing new clients and exit/retirement.
